Why we built this

A lot of sites want a phone number before you can even look around. Handing over your personal SIM for every trial, test account, or throwaway signup gets old fast. ReceiveTmpSMS gives you a shared inbox instead - you read the SMS on the web, copy the code, and move on.

We only offer shared public numbers. There is no private rental, no paid exclusivity, and no outbound calling. The product stays simple on purpose: pick a country, open a number, read the inbox.

What we offer

Public numbers

Shared temporary numbers you can open in the browser. Fine for quick OTPs, app testing, and one-time signups - never for private accounts.

Instant inbox view

Pick a number, request the SMS elsewhere, then refresh the inbox. No account and no payment for public inboxes.

Keeps your SIM out of it

Useful when you want a code but do not want to hand your personal number to every untrusted form.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose a country

Open the Countries directory and pick the region the app expects.

  2. 2

    Select a number

Prefer Online numbers. Exhausted lines are shown for transparency but should not be used for new requests.

  3. 3

    Use for verification

Copy the full international number, paste it into the other app, and request the SMS.

  4. 4

    Read the inbox

Return here, tap Refresh, then copy the highlighted code. Remember the inbox is public.

  • Banking, wallets, or payment apps

  • Long-term 2FA on accounts you care about

A few honest notes

Public numbers are not a privacy product in the strong sense. Anyone can open the same inbox you are looking at. They are convenient, not confidential.

We may filter some message types (for example banking or password resets) on purpose. If you need a code for something important, use your own number.

Availability changes. A number that worked yesterday might be overloaded today. The FAQs cover what to try when SMS does not show up.
